Palomar Washington, DC

DC IN GENERAL

The Palomar sits about 2 blocks away from anything you would want to go to in Dupont Circle. It’s a pretty sweet location, but certainly not perfect. The entrance and lobby are small but hip and fun. The bar in the downstairs area works really well, and has a sick happy hour (it’s tucked off to the side and isn’t necessarily a part of the main lobby). The room I was in was strangely too large, you know when things are just too far out of reach. One wants to feel cozy! Bathrooms in Kimpton hotels are almost always old school, and there is no exception here. Bathrooms could be much better, TV’s could be much bigger, but all in all it works well. Good room service menu. Pay per view is old school but they do have 24 hour action and good selections.

Notes

–Kimpton hotels allow dogs, so you get a fair amount of hot women with tiny pups, but you also run the risk of an animal yapping all night.
