Hotel Madera Washington, DC

Hotel Madera is in the Dupont Circle area, but not in a commercial part of it. The walk to bars is gonna take a few minutes, but it’s not too bad. The pictures of this hotel online tell a different story than what it actually offers. Now I like this place, but it is small. When you walk in it will remind you of an urban European-style hotel, like stuffing a hotel into a space that can’t fit one. That being said, they have a tiny but cool bar, and they also have an awesome restaurant (Firefly), all in the lobby area. The rooms are fine but could be sexier. They have multiple options so I would err on the side of spending more money rather than less. The standard rooms here are only ok. Valet is easy even though when I went there was a ton of construction on the street. The staff is super nice, which I think the Kimpton brand does a good job with overall.

– No adult movies! No 24-hour room service! Normally I wouldn’t even review a hotel that didn’t have 2 of the major SLT requirements, but this hotel could work in certain situations.
